Face AFTA 2015, the Indonesian Doctors Distribution Still a Threat


Ready or not , the doctor Indonesia will soon face the global competition in the AFTA ( ASEAN Free Trade Area ) , 2015. Doctor Indonesia Bersatu ( DIB ) was considered, less inequality of doctors distribution is still a threat .

" The number of our doctors is enough , but accumulate in urban areas . While still lacking in the villages" said representatives of DIB , Dr M Yadi Permana , Spb ( K ) , met in 2014 in the DIB Akbar Workshop Stovia Building , Jalan Abdul Rahman Saleh , Central Jakarta , Saturday ( 17/05/2014 ) .

According to Dr. Yadi , the number of physicians indonesia is between 94 thousand to 95 thousand, currently no shortage of doctors . Moreover, the new doctor in each year by 4 thousand to 5 thousand people , so that when the effect of AFTA in 2015 , the number of doctors in Indonesia can range in number of 100 thousand .

However , the lack of equitable distribution of doctors is still a problem . The reason , according to Dr. Yadi is a regional autonomy which makes the Ministry of Health is not freely put doctors , among others, through the PTT ( Employee Variable ) .

" The problem again , who would want to be placed in remote areas if the salary is below the minimum wage ? Lately it has been raised , but the reality on the ground does not go down the payroll every month , " complained Dr. Yadi .

Apart from the preparations for the AFTA in 2015 , DIB in this great workshop also highlighted the various problems faced by Indonesian doctors and health world in general . Among these are health budget does not meet the WHO standard of 1 percent of GDP ( gross domestic product ) .
