Madrid – The return of Fernando Torres made striker stock owned by Atletico Madrid increase. According to Diego Simeone coach, internal competition on the striker is good for his team.
Torres returns to Atletico after seven and a half years of leaving the club. El Nino is on loan from AC Milan until the end of the 2015/2016 season.
The presence of Torres put Atletico has another alternative to fill the center forward position. Previously, Los colchoneros rely on Mario Mandzukic and Raul Jimenez. They also sometimes put Antoine Griezmann as the spearhead.
"I always think of the players. Hopefully Fernando can give all that he had and, most importantly, to compete," said Simeone at Soccerway.
"We have Raul Jimenez, Mandzukic, and Griezmann. Internal competition will be good," he added.
Torres will be introduced to the media and fans on the next Sunday (01/04/2015). He can not be lowered while Atletico against Levante in La Liga on Saturday (3/1). Liverpool and Chelsea Former were probably will play both debut with Atletico in the derby against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday (7/1).
