Washington DC, When you feel fatigue or sudden muscle cramps frequently although had enough rest, it seems that you need more magnesium.

The deficiency of magnesium is very difficult to detect and therefore the expert earned the nickname 'invisible deficiency'. The reason is because the deficiency can cause a variety of health problems which is similar to other diseases.

"Magnesium is involved in more than 300 body biochemical processes. It affects everything from heart rate, muscle, to hormones," said Dr. Danine Fruge of the Pritikin Longevity Center, Florida, USA, and quoted by CNN on Saturday (3/1 / 2015).

Then how do I know someone is having magnesium deficiency?

Magnesium deficiency is divided into three stages and one can experience a variety of symptoms corresponding stages. Decreased appetite, nausea, and fatigue are symptoms that typically arise early.

The  magnesium deficiency symptoms such as tingling, cramping, numbness, and muscle reaction that can sometimes arise spontaneously is critical. This is due to lack of magnesium has disrupted the normal functioning of muscles and nerves.

At the worst level of magnesium deficiency is known to cause seizures, behavioral changes, and abnormal heart rhythms.

Fruge said the diets such as soft drinks and foods with artificial sweeteners are need to wary. The soda interfere the nutrients absorption and artificial sweetener encourage the kidneys to remove magnesium from the body. If someone likes to eat both, they most likely suffered a mild magnesium deficiency.

To prevent food shortages green vegetables such as spinach, nuts, fish, and whole grains is good for consumption. In addition, if necessary there are also supplements that can be consumed even though Frudge reminded to be careful not too excessive.

"Your body has a mechanism to prevent an overdose of nutrients from food, but it does not apply if you take supplements. Too much magnesium may cause cardiac arrhythmia risk and it can be fatal, especially for people with diabetes," said Frudge.
