In Africa and in South America, a large army ants are used as surgical sutures.
The pulled together, and the ants reach the edge of the wound with a wound in the mandible to lock into place. Then, the body of the ant is separated from the ant's head. Head remains attached to the wound as stitches until the wound is healed.
