Former Ferrari driver Felipe Massa, commented on the move of Fernando Alonso McLaren. Alonso assessed he does need a new team because it was stuck with Ferrari.
Massa spent four years with Alonso at Ferrari before sacked at the end of 2013 in order to give place to Kimi Raikkonen.
Alonso then follows the steps of Massa to leave 'Prancing Horse' in this season after reaching an agreement with the team to move to McLaren. Meanwhile, his place will be occupied by four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel.
Massa claimed he was not surprised by the move of Alonso. He also hoped that his former teammate can drink success in new team.
"Everyone knows he will leave Ferrari, so really it's not surprising news," said the Brazilian driver told Autosport.
"Maybe we see that Ferrari did not give him the best car as he thought, but maybe he did not help Ferrari develop. So, maybe it's time for him to change."
"Does losing Alonso would be better or worse for Ferrari, I do not know. Fernando is probably the best rider on the track so whether it will be enough for Ferrari to go forward (without him). We'll see," said Massa.
